What a great way to kick off the near year! - thank you for all of your support!

This is the most special song I’ve ever written, born of the love and grief I felt as I watched my father battle with cancer. He was diagnosed on November 3 of 2004 and was called home on December 27thof that very year. My father was my hero and my best friend; I miss him each and every day.

Most of those last few weeks of his life were spent in the hospital getting biopsies, tests and treatments. The process was painful for him but his strength carried him through with great dignity. But when you watch your loved one suffer you also experience pain, the kind of pain that sits in your heart and overwhelms your soul.  Watching my father struggle, helpless to save him from the ravages of cancer, I started having unusual chest pains. I ignored it at first but eventually ended up in the…

Lyrics - “How Fast We Have Fallen”

Posted 29th September 2010

Verse 1:
God’s not welcome in classrooms, and school locker rooms,
Commencement addresses, no more prayer in school.
Then we wonder why He’s not there,
How fast we have fallen!

Not welcome in government, or courthouse walls,
Congress voting in unread bills and laws.
Political agendas rule,
How fast we have fallen!

Pre Chorus:
Some have wondered, how did we get here?
What happened to us?.......It just took,

Chorus:
One step at a time,
One more compromise,
A turned head away,
More tolerance today,
Don’t judge me, take a stand, or tell me what to do!
Now we’re livin’ like we’ve wanted to,
How fast we have fallen!

Verse 2:
We’re stuck in a system, it’s failing us fast,

Sometimes you have to say what’s on your heart, even if you know it won’t be popular…or easy. This song was written after I heard a report on the news about how classrooms across the nation would be getting all new textbooks as a part of the much-debated “Stimulus Package.” These books were going to be “updated” to show the contributions that minorities, a group that included everybody from females and homosexuals to those of African descent…but these books would not be highlighting the framework of our moving story of how our nation was formed, the struggle of our founding fathers, or the tale of our constitution. Imagine that, history books devoid of our rich history, including the amazing victories and astonishing adversity we had to overcome to develop our great nation? They called this shift in perspective “social history.”

This news report said that the reason for…

Lyrics - “Emergency!”

Posted 29th September 2010

Verse 1:
What happened to us, did the preachers stop preaching?
Substituting truth, for motivational speaking
What about sin, and Holy Ghost conviction?
They said, that’s no way to fill my congregation
Going to church became a social affair
We praise Him from our lips, but our heart’s not really there
It’s time that our fruit, that it lines up with Him and we repent from all our sin

Chorus:
It’s an emergency,
We need a Holy Ghost invasion absolutely
To change this apathetic feel good Christianity
So the church can shine their light with no hypocrisy
We need to turn our hearts to Him!

Verse 2:
What’s right is now wrong, and what’s wrong is now right
We’re all politically correct now, and if not there’s a fight
